Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain English, what information we collect when you visit the site or write to us through the form, what we use it for, and what you can do about it. The formal document required by Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 is the Data Processing Policy.

The practice is based in Colombia, so Colombian data protection law — Law 1581 of 2012 — governs how your information is handled, wherever you are writing from.

2 · What we collect

What you give us

When you fill in the consultation form: your name, email address, phone number with its country code, country of residence, the procedure you are interested in, and whatever you choose to write in the message. Nothing else. We never ask for identity documents, a home address, or payment details anywhere on the site.

What is generated automatically

Like any website, the server and our measurement tools record technical data: approximate IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, time on page, and where you arrived from. This tells us which content is useful and helps us spot faults. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not cross-reference it with what you write in the form.

3 · What we use it for

  • Answering your enquiry and scheduling a consultation.
  • Contacting you by WhatsApp, phone or email about that specific enquiry.
  • Sending you information about the procedure you asked about.
  • Understanding which pages are useful so we can improve them.

We do not sell, rent or pass your information to third parties for commercial purposes, and we do not add you to any mailing list unless you ask us to.

4 · About your health

If your message mentions your health, your body or the procedure you are considering, that information is sensitive data under Colombian law and gets special care. So:

  • You are not required to give it to us, and your enquiry will be answered just as carefully if you don't.
  • It is stored with restricted access and used only to answer your enquiry.
  • If you would rather not write anything clinical in the form, just leave your name and contact details — we can talk it through properly in the consultation.

5 · Who else sees your data

The site relies on three outside services, each receiving only what it strictly needs:

Formspree
Receives the form and forwards it to our inbox. Servers in the United States.
Hostinger
Hosts the website and keeps the server's technical logs.
Google
Search Console and analytics: measures site usage in aggregate.

This means your data may be stored outside Colombia. Colombian law permits this where the receiving country offers adequate safeguards or where you authorise it — which is what the form's consent checkbox does.

6 · Cookies

This site uses no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. It uses your browser's local storage for one thing only: remembering that you have already seen the opening animation so it isn't repeated in the same session. You can clear it from your browser settings and the site will work exactly the same.

7 · How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as we have a relationship with you and for up to five years after our last contact — a reasonable window for answering later questions. If you ask us to delete them sooner, we will.

One exception: the medical record of a patient who has been operated on is governed by Colombian health regulations, which set their own retention periods. This policy does not override them.

8 · How we protect it

Both sites are served over HTTPS. The inbox that receives enquiries is protected with two-step verification. No system is infallible: should an incident affect your data, we will tell you and report it to Colombia's Superintendency of Industry and Commerce, as the law requires.

9 · Your rights

You may access, update, correct and delete your data; withdraw the authorisation you gave us; ask for proof that you gave it; and file complaints with the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce. The detailed procedure, with the statutory deadlines, is in the Data Processing Policy.

In short: write to hello@drdanielramos.co with the subject "Data protection" and we will get back to you.

10 · Minors

This site is intended for people over 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we find that an enquiry came from a minor without a parent or guardian's authorisation, we delete it.

11 · Changes to this policy

If this policy changes substantially we will publish the new version at this same address, dated. The date in the header tells you when the version you are reading took effect.
